At least 12 people were killed in an Israeli air raid against a UN school in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical authorities reported.

It was the second Israeli attack on a UN school in the last few hours.


Said Jouda The Palestinian official said the Jebaliya incursion in the north of the territory, leaving a balance of three dead and four wounded.

The school was operating in these days as a refuge for people displaced by the Israeli offensive against the Hamas militia, he added.


The offensive has so far half a million dead, including dozens of civilians.

Israel has not made statements on the latest attacks. But accuses Hamas of refugees to their militiamen in mosques, schools and residential areas.


Israeli forces were close to major urban centers and attacked, among other targets, the UN schools, causing more civilian casualties in Israel while ignoring the mounting international calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

Arreciaron in fighting on Tuesday morning, at least 18 people died in various parts of Palestinian territory due to the fire of Israeli tanks and ships, said authorities in local hospitals. Only two of the dead were confirmed as militiamen.


In one incident during the night, three people died after Israel attacked a UN school where hundreds of people had taken refuge.

The tanks approached the towns of Khan Yunis and Dir el Bala in southern and central Gaza, but were still several kilometers (miles) away, said witnesses, who added that the noise of the fighting was heard to vicinity of the new Israeli positions. Israeli troops surrounded and Gaza City, the largest city in the strip.
